The London Distillery Company has decided to take a different path. The distillery has three whiskies ready as part of an exploration of rare casks. The goal: to see how single malt evolves when you challenge tradition with brand-new wood. The New Forms series launches on 12 June.
Under the banner ‘Believe, Build, Become’, the distillery explores how its single malt can develop when convention is deliberately pushed. The series comprises three limited cask strength releases, each drawn from the rare and finite stocks of the original distillery.

New Forms: an experimental whisky series

These whiskies went on a remarkable journey before being bottled. They all share the same foundation: single malt whisky that first matured in refill hogsheads.
Each of the three then received its own secondary maturation in casks never before used by the original distillery. The result is a triptych where wood and time take center stage.

Which whiskies are in The London Distillery Company’s New Forms series?

The line-up includes the following three bottles:
  • New Forms: Ex-Bourbon Cask
  • New Forms: Fino Sherry Cask
  • New Forms: Moscatel Sherry Cask

Ex-bourbon: clarity and balance

The first release is New Forms: Ex-Bourbon Cask. This whisky was finished for 12 months in a first fill ex-bourbon cask, number #11190. It was then bottled at 60.7% alcohol by volume (ABV) and is limited to just 222 bottles.
  • Nose: Bright notes of barley, vanilla and ripe yellow fruit, with hints of honey, citrus and lightly toasted oak.
  • Palate: Powerful and pure, full of fruit, creamy vanilla, malty sweetness and a defined oak presence that supports the spirit without overpowering it.
  • Finish: Long, warm and expressive, with lingering grain, citrus, gentle spice and dry oak.

Fino sherry: tension, precision and structure

The second variant is New Forms: Fino Sherry Cask. This expression was finished for 8 months in a first fill fino sherry hogshead, number #9001. It is bottled at 61.4% ABV with an outturn of 347 bottles.
  • Nose: Saline and nutty, with almond, green apple, stone fruit and a subtle oxidative touch.
  • Palate: Tight and precise, with notes of apricot, peach, roasted nuts, sea salt and a dry sherry influence that brings structure.
  • Finish: Dry, refined and long, with persistent nuttiness, minerality and fresh stone fruit.

Moscatel sherry: richness, sweetness and transformation

The third release, New Forms: Moscatel Sherry Cask, was finished for 8 months in a first fill moscatel sherry hogshead, cask number #9008. It is bottled at 61.6% ABV with an outturn of 345 bottles.
  • Nose: Rich and aromatic, with raisins, honey, orange peel, ripe tropical fruit and warm spices.
  • Palate: Full-bodied and sweet, layering grapes, candied fruit, brown sugar, spice and a lush sherry influence.
  • Finish: Long, warm and rounded, with lingering sweetness, spice, dried fruit and a gentle oak note.

When does the New Forms whisky series launch?

The three New Forms bottlings will be available from 12 June 2026. These are limited releases in small batches, so availability for each expression will be restricted. The bottles will be offered through the official channels of The London Distillery Company and selected retailers. It is not yet known whether the bottles will also be available for purchase in the Netherlands and Belgium.
