The temperatures for this time of year continue to be very pleasant and mild. That's why we're kicking off these
whisky deals with a gentle blended whisky, composed of whiskies that are at least 21 years old. We then move on to a genuine classic, culminating with a heavily peated single malt bursting with character. From mainland
Scotland, we cross over to Islay, also known for its unpeated whiskies.
Dewar’s 21 Double Double
No, it's not a typo, double double refers to the quadruple maturation process. In step one, the Single Malt whisky is matured, in step two, the Single Grain. Both versions are combined in step three, in what's known as blending.
After the blending of the whiskies occurs, this blend is then aged a further time in step four in oak barrels, also referred to as marrying ('Marrying'). The fourfold (double double) process ensures a smoother balanced whisky with components that are at least 21 years and older.
Bruichladdich Classic Laddie
This classic floral characteristic
Bruichladdich demonstrates the beauty of the elegant house style, even without peat. Naturally, the whisky is not chill-filtered and poured into the distinct blue bottle without any colorants. The ingredients are 100% Scottish barley and maturation occurred exclusively in American oak barrels. The whisky is bottled at a comfortable alcohol content of 50%.
Smokehead Rum Cask Rebel
This richly peated single malt from an Islay distillery has been finished in former sweet Caribbean rum barrels. Such a clash is bound to provoke a spectacular flavor explosion.
Expect massively smoked spices with bananas, pears and a touch of honey at the end. The Islay distillery behind this creation from the independent bottler Ian MacLeod remains a well-kept secret. One thing is for sure: the taste is as bold as the label.
