Buffalo Trace Distillery Organises Spooky Whiskey Hunt

Always wanted to spend the middle of the night in a distillery? You can do just that on Halloween at Buffalo Trace Distillery, but you might not want to do it alone. Night at the Distillery is all about ghosts, cocktails, and the history of the distillery.

Halloween is almost here, and that calls for spooky activities. Buffalo Trace Distillery has organized a special Halloween tour, where whiskey lovers can go ghost hunting. The distillery has put together a unique program centered around a spooky tour.

During this self-guided night tour (October 23–25 and October 30–November 1), whiskey lovers wander in the dark around the grounds of the more than 200-year-old distillery.

For 35 dollars per person, you not only get admission, but also three signature cocktails, a neat pour, a snack box, a one liter bottle of Sazerac Rye 100 Proof, and a collectible tote bag.

But that's not all. Buffalo Trace is also organizing a contest. One lucky winner (and a guest) will win a private ghost hunt.

The prize is an overnight stay at Stony Point, the former home of Colonel Albert Blanton, founder of the famous whiskey brand. This overnight stay includes a professional ghost hunt, airfare, transportation, and a luxury shopping experience at the distillery.

According to Buffalo Trace, there have been mysterious apparitions on the grounds for years, including one that bears a striking resemblance to Blanton. With this tour, they want to give visitors a glimpse into the legends, stories, and spirits that seem to inhabit the barrels.
