Annandale Distillery Unveils a Flavorful Whisky Debut

Join Annandale Distillery on a journey of discovery. The Scottish distillery just unveiled a new ‘release’ in the Oak Odyssey.
This is not about a new bottle of whisky, but about a special barrel in which whisky is still maturing. The distillery secured a few Greek Virgin Truffle Oak barrels, sourced from the northwest of Greece.
This type of oak, a symbol of strength and wisdom, has been revered since ancient Greek times. More importantly, this is a first in aging process. Never before has Scotch whisky been aged in Greek truffle barrels (Quercus Ilex).

A Whisky with a Unique Character on the Horizon

The maturing of the new Annandale single malt whisky is still in its early stages. The drink has only been resting in the Greek barrels for eight months. However, the journey thus far promising. The distillery talks of a spirit that ‘promises to be a unique kind of whisky’.
The distillery anticipates flavors of figs, sweet pear, aromatic oak, and spices in the whisky.

Through the Oak Odyssey program, Annandale offers something unique for whisky enthusiasts. You can buy your barrel at the distillery and become the owner of a whisky made from Greek oak.
You could become the owner of a Greek oak barrel. You get to choose whether you put the peated or unpeated spirit of Annandale into the barrel for aging. When you buy a barrel, it includes ten years of storage in the distillery's warehouse, a certificate, and a delivery order.
