Kingsbarns hits a milestone

The Kingsbarns distillery has released a whisky with an age statement for the first time, namely the Kingsbarns 10 Year Old single malt whisky.

From day one, Isabella Wemyss played a pivotal role in selecting the right barrels and shaping the house style. For her, the 10-year-old release is an emotional milestone:

What is the Kingsbarns 10 Year Old whisky?

The 10-year-old Kingsbarns whisky has matured in predominantly ex-bourbon barrels. Additionally, a small proportion of STR-wine barrels was used during aging. After ten years of maturation, the whisky was married and eventually bottled at 46 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).

How does the new Kingsbarns whisky taste?

The tasting notes of the single malt whisky are as follows:

Nose: Summery fruit salad, fresh citrus, subtle vanilla
Palate: Creamy and balanced, hints of peach, pear and slight spiciness from the STR-wood
Finish: Elegant and long, with a touch of honey and soft oak tones

Where can you buy the new Kingsbarns 10 Year Old whisky?

The Kingsbarns 10 Year Old Single Malt whisky is now available through the distillery's website and a selected number of retailers. The production is limited, but how many bottles are involved is not known. However, the recommended retail price has been released, which stands at 65 pounds.
