The Dalmore unveils a 14-year-old whisky with a striking Marsala finish

The Dalmore has fished another remarkable whisky out of one of its warehouses. The Scottish distillery is releasing a 14-year-old single malt that spent almost two years in Marsala casks from Sicily. If you want to snag a bottle, you’ll need to move quickly.

Only 1,110 bottles of the new The Dalmore 14 Year Old Marsala Finish are being released. The whisky is part of the Distillery Select Series, through which The Dalmore handpicks small batches of standout whiskies from its reserves.

Launched in 2024, the series focuses on whiskies that show a slightly different side of The Dalmore’s signature style.

The Dalmore whisky gets an almost 2-year Marsala finish

For this 14-year-old single malt, things began in classic fashion: initial maturation in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak.

Then The Dalmore changed course. The whisky spent a further 1 year and 9 months in barriques that previously held Semisecco Marsala, a semi-sweet fortified wine from the Italian island of Sicily.

Casks like these tend to layer in generous sweetness and fruit. Think candied citrus, honeyed fruit, roasted nuts, and gentle spices.

The whisky is bottled at a robust 53.7% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and The Dalmore has added no color.

What does The Dalmore 14 Year Old Marsala Finish taste like?

According to the official tasting notes, the whisky opens on a notably fruity register. On the nose you’ll find clementine, stone fruits, honeyed malt, grape must, and spicy vanilla.

Palate: Candied orange peel, sweet pear, toffee, brioche, walnuts, clove, and cinnamon.
Finish: Sweet citrus, oak, and warming spice.

Only 1,110 bottles of this Dalmore whisky

This release won’t be widely available. Just 1,110 bottles of The Dalmore 14 Year Old Marsala Finish 2026 are being distributed worldwide.

The price also sits well above the brand’s core releases. A bottle costs 350 British pounds. Official sales began on 31 August 2026. Members of The Dalmore Guild were given early access to order.

The Distillery Select Series is also available at the distillery itself, which reopened its revamped visitor experience in the Scottish Highlands earlier this year.

For the average whisky drinker, this likely won’t be an impulse add-to-cart. Still, an almost two-year Marsala finish on a 14-year-old Dalmore is a combination you don’t see every day.
