The Glen Grant embarks on an exploration
The new The Glen Grant whisky series is inspired by the visionary spirit of The Major, also known as James Grant who once inherited the distillery. In the 19th century, he travelled the world in search of flavors and aromas that would define his whisky.
The Exploration No. 1 whisky revives this sense of discovery: the rum finish enhances the fruity character of Glen Grant and creates a complex, vibrant whisky that invites you to taste and explore.
What is The Glen Grant Exploration Series No 1 whisky?
The first whisky in the biannual series has initially undergone a fairly classical maturation. The whisky patiently waited in ex-bourbon casks until the time was ripe for the finish. Then, the whisky was transferred to rum casks for a delightful twist in taste.
Greig Stables, master distiller at The Glen Grant, states that the series is not only inspired by Grant, but also crafted to honor the former owner.
‘Just as with Exploration No. 1, each release in the upcoming series gives us an opportunity to experiment with distillation, finishes, and flavor profiles. I'm eagerly looking forward to sharing these new expressions with our community.’
