The
Glenturret has unveiled a new limited-edition
single malt whisky: Eclosion. With this release, the Scottish distillery from Crieff spotlights contrast, cask selection, and balance. The whisky is a limited release, only 4,650 bottles. But who is it for, and what can you expect?
Glenturret Eclosion refers to the moment of emerging or unfolding. The name nods to the birth of flavor in this single malt nectar of the gods, and in this case, to the whisky’s depth and freshness as well. The Glenturret has matured primarily in European oak PX sherry casks, which typically deliver rich notes of dried fruit, spice, and structure.
A whisky built on the finer details
In addition, a portion of the whisky was laid down in an American oak puncheon. Although that cask represents only a small part of the overall selection, The Glenturret emphasizes that influence isn’t always about volume. According to the distillery, Eclosion shows how a carefully chosen cask can gently elevate a whisky and bring greater clarity, just as this American oak has done.
Bob Dalgarno, Whisky Maker at The Glenturret, oversaw the whisky’s maturation. He ultimately decided it had rested long enough to be bottled, released without an age statement.
How does The Glenturret Eclosion taste?
The official tasting notes describe the whisky as lively and fruit-driven. On the nose, look for pineapple, citrus compote, vanilla crème, and a delicate touch of gingery oak.
On the palate, that fresh fruitiness carries through. Notes of citrus, pineapple, and a hint of orange oil glide by, joined by gentle oak and a subtle whisper of cinnamon. The finish is warm, elegant, and fruity, with well-integrated wood tones that linger gracefully.
Eclosion is bottled at 46.2% alcohol by volume (ABV).
A limited-edition whisky for collectors and enthusiasts

The Glenturret adds another limited whisky to its range. It’s available in limited quantities via the distillery’s website for £95.
