Jack Daniel’s has been around for quite some time as a whiskey brand. As far back as 1900, you could purchase this whiskey. Back then, the bottle looked quite different. What's more, though the first label was black, the whiskey received labels in all sorts of colors and flavors. In a special whiskey series, the Jack Daniel’s Legacy series, the brand now honors these olden days.

So far, three expressions have appeared in the series. Each of these three whiskies refers to a different period in the history of Jack Daniel’s, with the matching label and associated taste.

The first doesn't feature the black label we're used to from the whiskey brand. Instead, the label is bright green with a few red accents and some golden borders. It also showcases a different typeface used at the time and prominently promotes the use of Sour Mash in the drink. The Jack Daniel’s Legacy 2 expression features a color more familiar to the brand. The label is predominantly black with some white elements.
The typeface here, is also different from what we're used to.

The third whiskey in the series sports a label dating back to the era pre-prohibition in 1920. The lightly colored label refers to rye, a critical component of the No.7 whiskey. Again, the label showcases a different typeface than the standard one.

These Jack Daniel's Legacy Edition whiskies are all limited in their release, but the price does not indicate this. Each bottle costs between 30 and 40 euros at the time of writing. This means you can complete this series of special bottles for less than 150 euros. And then you have some real show-stoppers in your cabinet.
