Every whisky lover knows the feeling: suddenly there are a lot of bottles in the cabinet. That's not a bad thing at all. But we wondered: is there always one bottle that's a mainstay among that collection? That's why this week's question is: Which whisky do you always have at home?
'A bottle of Laphroaig 10 years is always there'
In my whisky cabinet, there's always a bottle of Kilchoman and
Laphroaig. A Laphroaig 10 Years is always among them. Currently I have one from the 90s, but also the regular version is often found in my home.
I also regularly have the Cask Strength variant in the peaty corner. I always have at least one Kilchoman. Not the same one every time, but a different one each time. Young ones, I find the tastiest, beyond that, I enjoy the variety. - Hessel
'There is always something from Ardbeg to be found'
There's always something from
Ardbeg in my whisky cabinet. A 10 year old, a Wee beastie, or a Uigeadail. All deliciously peaty whiskies. As a guilty pleasure, there's usually also a Wild Turkey 101 for straight drinking or mixing with coke. - Daan
'Always a few beautiful Japanese bottles'
Even though I started with Scottish whiskies, my real interest was stirred when I started drinking Japanese whiskies. So you can bet that there will always be a few beautiful Japanese bottles (currently Sakhrani and Hakushu) in the cabinet. And then there's always one in particular that I consider a friend to everyone:
Hibiki Harmony. Currently, it's out, and that's not quite right, so I need to order a new bottle. Because that one has always been there over the years. Beyond that, I wouldn't know. I also enjoy experimenting with buying different bottles. - Rox
Glenmorangie and Compass Box
I don't habitually have a certain expression at home. But of my favorite brands,
Glenmorangie and
Compass Box, I always have one (or several). The
Tale of Ice Cream, is of course up front with this great weather. But for a bit more kick, the Nectarosity is right behind. That'll get me through the summer. - Ilse
