Bruichladdich Distillery has yet to announce a release date for the Octomore 16 whiskies, yet it's time for a first look at the whiskies of 2026.
FAQ

A collection of heavily peated single malts, famous for their bold smoke levels and iconic matte-black bottles.
  • What can you expect from the Octomore 17 range?
The series will feature three five-year-old whiskies, each heavily peated. One of them is made using barley grown on Octomore Farm.
  • When are the Octomore 17 whiskies coming out?
An exact release date hasn’t been announced, but they are expected no earlier than 2026.
Labels filed in the U.S. TTB database don’t guarantee that a whisky will reach the market. Registering a label is simply part of the approval process and does not serve as an official release announcement.

Which three Octomore labels have been registered by Bruichladdich Distillery?

Bruichladdich has submitted three labels to the online database:
  • Octomore 17.1
  • Octomore 17.2
  • Octomore 17.3

A whisky trio for Octomore 17?

The registration of three labels suggests Octomore 17 will launch as a trio. However, this isn’t guaranteed. For example, Octomore 15 initially debuted with three expressions, but a fourth, a 10-year-old release, was added later.
As always, the Octomore range will feature individually numbered editions, each with unique cask profiles and characteristics, all bottled in the signature black glass.
