Benedict Cumberbatch Hilariously Drunk in New Movie: The Roses

'In a considerate marriage, one drinks for the other when they are asleep.' Voila. Those are the words you can feast on in The Roses, a new film starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman.

The Roses, a remake, is currently running in cinemas. It's a film that mixes humor and drama, starting with a couple who are over-the-moon in love, but progressively lose sight of one another.

Once madly in love, years later they can barely stand each other. This descent comes accompanied by comical scenes and dialogues.

Both have no problem with an occasional tipple, but the funniest scene involves Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Theo, on a plane. After an evening that has spiraled completely out of control, he expects apologies but his wife finds it hard to offer them.

She blandly brushes off his expectations, with a clear 'sorry' still missing from her responses. In turn, he gets so annoyed that he decides to drown his frustrations in drink. He quickly orders two whiskies at once - the punchline being that both are for him.

When a flight attendant approaches with the amber elixir, Theo glances sideways to find his partner asleep. He then quips, 'In a considerate marriage, one drinks for the other when they are asleep.' But the comedy doesn't end there – more laughs ensue.

It quickly becomes apparent that Theo consumes way too much whisky and gets extremely drunk on the plane. He even get's so drunk, the movie skips to the end of the flight where he is fighting with a flight attendant for a drawing. Certainly, this is not what the nectar of life is intended for.

Nonetheless, it results in a film packed with hilarious moments.
