Isle of Harris celebrates with whisky
Festivities are in full swing in the Scottish Outer Hebrides. The Isle of Harris Distillery is celebrating its tenth birthday, and of course, The Hearach whisky is part of the grand celebration. The distillery has unveiled a special bottling that has been peated for the first time.
What is The Hearach Decade Edition?
The new whisky from Isle of Harris Distillery is made with malt dried using authentic Harris peat, resulting in a peated whisky with a PPM (Parts per Million) of 40 to 44. The distillate was aged in various casks for six years.
These were ex-oloroso butts, ex-Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, and other bourbon barrels. After maturation, the
single malt whisky was bottled at 46 percent
alcohol by volume (ABV).
The Scottish distillery describes the whisky not only as a special bottle but also as a glimpse into the future. Whether this suggests that we can expect more smoky whisky from Isle of Harris in the future is not stated.
What are The Hearach Decade Edition whisky's tasting notes?

- Finish: Creamy, long, and elegant.
