Heaven Hill unveils an exceptionally aged bourbon

Heaven Hill has been releasing its Heritage Collection for several years now, showcasing well-aged bourbons. The distillery has outdone itself with a 22-year-old Heaven Hill Heritage Collection whiskey. It's the oldest release in the series to date.

Introduced in 2022, Heaven Hill Distillery’s annual Heritage Collection spotlights exceptional maturations drawn from the distillery’s traditional mashbills. These bottlings typically carry impressive age statements.

The Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 22-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon is the oldest expression released in the series so far.

For this edition, the team selected 270 barrels. The bourbon was originally distilled in February, July, and August of 2003 and was ultimately bottled in December 2025. All selected barrels matured on the fifth and sixth floors of Rickhouse Y in Kentucky.

According to Heaven Hill, this position in the warehouse subjects the whiskey to pronounced seasonal temperature swings. That dynamic drives a more intense interaction between spirit and oak, building extra complexity and depth in the bourbon.

The 22-year-old bourbon uses Heaven Hill’s classic mashbill that has been employed for decades: 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley.

This mashbill is celebrated for balancing sweet notes with a spicier profile. With extended aging, it yields a rich, layered flavor.

According to the official tasting notes, the nose opens with aged oak, dark caramel, and toasted vanilla. On the palate, expect hints of leather, warm cinnamon, and subtle dried fruit.

The finish is long and intense, with charred oak, toffee, and a lingering peppery spice.

The new Heaven Hill Heritage Collection bourbon is available starting this month at the American distillery. The price is $319.99 per bottle. Unfortunately, the special edition whiskey is not available internationally.
