New Penderyn whisky born from a collaboration
For this thirteenth edition in the Icons of Wales whisky series, Penderyn joined forces with Jane Tranter, CEO of Bad Wolf, and her team. They selected the Tawny Port cask at the distillery that would then be bottled as a limited edition. The reason being the company's 10 year anniversary in Wales.
The Bad Wolf bottle is then provided with a label created by Lauren Tutssel, a local designer, who caused the mythical Bad Wolf to howl for the first time.
‘There’s something delightfully rebellious about celebrating our 10-year existence with a whisky in our name. While we were creating hundreds of hours of drama, this whisky was quietly maturing, ready to be appreciated at just the right moment. Some things are simply worth the wait.’
- Jane TranterWhat does Penderyn Bad Wolf taste like?
The whisky was bottled by Aista Phillips, Penderyn's master blender. The single malt is also provided with tasting notes:
- Nose: Floral notes of orange blossom and rose leaf, followed by fruit pastry, raisins, fig jam, and fresh strawberries.
- Palate: Dark stewed fruits with marzipan, toffee, and marmalade and a subtle salty edge.
Finish: Long, gentle, and refined with hints of dried apricot, salted caramel, and a touch of nutmeg.
The whisky is bottled at 46% alcohol by volume (ABV).
Where can the Penderyn Bad Wolf whisky be purchased?
