Ardnamurchan Heritage Barley whisky
Attention Ardnamurchan fans, because the Scottish whisky maker is soon releasing a new bottle of whisky. It's a bottle with a beautiful green label called the Heritage Barley Release.
The whisky bottle was announced through the official Facebook channel. The whisky is names Heritage Barley, but in the announcement it is not mentioned which barley is used in the making of the spirit.
Furthermore not much is known yet, although the distillery does say that it's a whisky that's creamy, bright and vibrant.

How does the new Ardnamurchan whisky taste?

Something has already been revealed about the taste of this water of life. The tasting notes are as follows:
  • Nose: Freshly opened digestive biscuits and warm, melted salted butter over baked oats - reminiscent of flapjacks. A gentle dusting of powdered sugar on marzipan, akin to Battenberg cake. Hints of apricot jam and a touch of honey-sweet sweetness complete the picture.
  • Palate: The marzipan note lingers and deepens into poached almonds and subtle pistachio. Gentle sweetness with subtly effervescent lemonade and baked cooking apples. Floral tones of lavender emerge alongside a buttery, nutty richness - think peshwari naan filling.
  • Finish: Balanced, rich, focused and velvet-smooth - while still bright and vibrant.
No more information is available. The FB post does show the recognition the brand is receiving worldwide. For example, one person comments hoping the bottle will be offered in the Netherlands. Another would like to see the whisky bottle in Sweden, and a third person is asking for the bottle at a whisky festival in Warsaw.

When will the Heritage Barley Release be available?

An exact launch date of the new whisky has not been disclosed, but Ardnamurchan Distillery states your best bet is to keep an eye on the distillery for the latest news, such as the details of the casks and the price.
