What is the Ardnahoe Cask Strength Release?

Ardnahoe was founded in 2018 and officially opened its doors in 2019. The first whisky, the Inaugural Release, arrived in 2024, followed by bottlings like Bholsa and Infinite Loch. Now it’s time for the third whisky in the distillery’s core range—and this one takes a different tack.

It’s a cask strength whisky. Ardnahoe’s new release is 5 years old. Distilled from peated malt, it was then matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. For David Livingstone, Ardnahoe’s distillery manager, this is far more than just another release.

How does the Ardnahoe Cask Strength Release taste?

The distillery has shared the official tasting notes for Ardnahoe’s new whisky. Here they are:

Nose: Coastal influence, earthy peat, and rich cocoa notes.

Palate: Orchard fruits, herbal tea, and salted caramel.

Finish: Smoky tones with citrus.

The whisky is bottled at 60.9 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).

From October 30 you can pick up a bottle via the Ardnahoe website, at the distillery shop, or from selected retailers worldwide. Expect a price of around 65 pounds.
