Northland was the very first label of Wolfburn and quickly won hearts with its smooth character. The distillery soon catapulted the
single malt whisky as the star of its range.
Now, the whisky is back in a new guise. Wolfburn Northland has been re-launched with the same profile as its predecessor, but now with an age indication of 8 years.
What type of casks were used for the Northland 8 Year Old whisky?
The new edition of Wolfburn Northland has undergone the same maturation as the original edition. The whisky has rested in American oak quarter casks for a total of eight years.
This results in the following tasting notes:
- Nose: Sweet and fresh, with fruit, sea influences, citrus, grain, and a touch of smoke.
- Palate: Soft notes of honey and grapes, floral accents, dried fruit, and subtle spices.
- Finish: Smooth and sweet, slowly fading with a whisper of gentle peat smoke.
