We love to discuss whisky in all forms. There are whiskies in all priceranges, even below 50 euros But what about whisky for the connoisseurs? Is there something delightful to discover under 50 euros? Absolutely.
Teeling x Duvel Collaboration
The first whiskey we want to recommend here is
Teeling Duvel Collaboration. This is a partnership between Irish company Teeling and Belgian brewery Duvel. It's a whiskey that is particularly suitable for whisky drinkers who do not shy away from a glass of beer.
The collaboration between Teeling and Duvel is fascinating. Duvel had made beer aged in whiskey barrels from the Irish distillery. So they are mutually experimenting with flavors. Teeling has also
more collaborations for beer lovers.
A bottle of Duvel whiskey costs surprisingly little. At Topdrinks, the bottles are now ten euros cheaper, bringing them down to just 34.95 euros.
Compass Box
Let's move onto an independent bottler. Do you know who makes beautiful stuff?
Compass Box. This Scottish brand is popular among fans of independent bottlers. Their whiskies aren't just any whiskies; they offer pure quality. The transparency of the blended whiskies is something that whisky fans can appreciate. Every now and then, a beautiful whisky pops up.
Additionally, the labels are quite attractive. You can gaze at them for minutes before you even start sipping the whisky.
A nice bottle to buy is Nectarosity. It costs less than fifty euros and has a wonderful flavor profile. Think notes of honey, poached pears, pineapple, and so much more.
Lagg Kilmory
Looking for a flavorful whisky from a Scottish distillery that is doing well? Look no further than
Lagg Kilmory. The whisky is made on the island of Arran, and the subtle smokiness of this whisky will be appreciated by many enthusiasts.
It's not too heavily peated, but simply delicious and accessible. With an alcohol content of 46%, it doesn't disappoint any time of the year.
Wolfburn Langskip
Are you in search of a robust lad, that is, something with a higher alcohol percentage? Try
Wolfburn Langskip. The ABV is 58%, which sounds high, but do not be deceived: this divine drink is quite sweet in taste.
Therefore, the whisky is not only great for novice drinkers, the experienced drinker will also enjoy it thanks to a touch of heat. The Scottish distillery proves time and time again that they've earned their place!
Glen Scotia 10 Years
While Wolfburn is relatively young in terms of reopening (2013), there is another distillery that has been open much longer. For that, we go from the far north of Thurso to Campbeltown.
Glen Scotia has been making whisky since 1832, but didn't really put themselves back on the map until
Iain McAlister took charge.
An extremely affable and humble man. He spent a long time giving his new make spirit its own character. You should taste some expressions, like Glen Scotia’s 12 Years The Mermaid. But since that whisky is close to 100 euros, we'll stick to a 10-year-old Glen Scotia. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!
