It’s Friday again, which means it’s time for a new 'Ask Away.' This week we’re asking the Whisky Monkeys: what whisky glasses do you have at home?

Hessel

My whisky cabinet is stocked with all sorts of glasses. You’ll find Glencairns most of all—some plain, others printed with a brand or whisky festival logo. I also have classic tulip glasses that I love using for tastings, and two copitas that came with special Loch Lomond whiskies. When I’m settling in for a slow evening with a dram, my go-to are the 1920s blender’s glasses.

My shelf is mostly packed with Glencairns in regular and small sizes. You often get the small ones on a distillery tour, and with the logo they make a great souvenir. For actual use, nothing beats a regular Glencairn for me—it just sits perfectly in the hand. I’ve also got a few cut-crystal Glencairns. Beautiful to look at and to drink from.

Ilse

All kinds of whisky glasses live in my cupboard: both large and small Glencairns, glasses from festivals and distilleries. I’ve also got a copita and even a Norlan design glass—supposedly the best for capturing aroma and flavor to the fullest.
The only glass you won’t find in my cabinet is a tumbler—I find it too clunky. The Glencairn is my favorite for truly enjoying whisky.

Rox

I think we’ve got just about everything here, although the number of Glencairns keeps creeping up. That makes sense—when you visit a whisky festival, you often get one included, so they pile up naturally. I don’t collect them like André Schermer, though, haha. I just don’t have any Norlan glasses—they’re pretty pricey.

Theo

I have tons of whisky glasses in my home from Glencairns to Wee Glencairns, Tulip glasses and tumblers. Funny enough I usually grab a Wee Glencairn, since they are so small and easy to warm up. All the others glasses get their share of attention to, but not from me.
