Ardbeg Distillery is launching a new spin on one of its most beloved Islay whiskies. A more powerful take on Ardbeg Ten is on the way, and this time the single malt packs more punch than ever. Meet Ardbeg Ten Cask Strength.
Back in 2000,
Ardbeg introduced a ten-year-old whisky that was smoky, bold, and complex. Ardbeg Ten quickly became a favorite among distillery fans and peatheads around the globe.
Now it’s time for a release fans have been asking for, according to the whisky maker.
Ardbeg Ten will soon be available in a cask strength edition, which will also serve as the Ardbeg Committee Release for 2026. Here’s the announcement.
What is Ardbeg Ten Cask Strength?
Ardbeg Ten Cask Strength is exactly what you’d expect: an even bolder, more complex, and more flavorful take on Ardbeg Ten. It brings more smoke, more oiliness, and a more intense palate than the “standard” edition.
The tasting notes feature aromas of earthy smoke, wet peat, toffee, tar, and sea air. You can also expect vanilla, lime, and the embers of a campfire.
On the palate, it’s spicy and sweet with notes of cinnamon, peppery malt, soot, creosote, and peat moss. Biscuit and malt soften the edges. The finish is cooling and medicinal, with eucalyptus and lozenge-like antiseptic notes.
The alcohol content is 61.7 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).
Where will Ardbeg Ten Cask Strength be available?
Ardbeg’s new Committee Release will at least be available via the
distillery’s website. You can also expect it at Ardbeg Embassies.
Pricing per bottle has not yet been announced. The whisky is set for a release in february.
