Spring 2026 is already being gently ushered in with not one, but two single malt pre-orders. The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery has unveiled a duo of unique whiskies that will only be available for a limited time: Filey Bay Porter Cask 2 and a bolder take on Flagship.

Filey Bay has announced the pair as a special spring pre-order. One whisky has a clear nod to beer, while the other is a distinctive twist on the distillery’s flagship. How about a marrying strength whisky?

What is the Filey Bay Porter Cask 2 whisky?

The second edition of the much-loved Porter Cask is a limited release created in collaboration with Wold Top Brewery. For this whisky, Filey Bay provided used casks to the Wold Top brewery, which then matured beer in them first.

Afterwards, whisky was filled into the casks so the character of Marmalade Porter (Wold Top Brewery’s beer) would shine through in the spirit.

The result is a limited release of 990 bottles with notes of chocolate breakfast cereal, roasted malt, and marmalade. The whisky is bottled at 51.4% alcohol by volume (ABV) and is available to pre-order for £85.

What is the Filey Bay Flagship – Marrying Strength whisky?

Flagship Marrying Strength is a more powerful take on Filey Bay’s house style. While the classic Flagship is bottled at 46%, this edition comes in at 50.1% ABV. Joe Clark, whisky director at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, likens it to listening to a concert from the front row.

The flavor profile is extra bold, with honey, fruit, and caramel backed by citrus notes. A bottle of this whisky can be ordered for £70.

The distillery has scheduled the release for March 21. The whiskies can already be ordered via the whisky maker’s website. Wold Top’s beers are also available to order on the site.
