Beneath the Johnnie Walker Experience on Princes Street, a new world of luxury whisky has opened up. The Johnnie Walker Vault is a global luxury platform, focusing on the art of blending and luxury divine liquor.

This new endeavor is the most ambitious project centered around blended whisky the brand has ever undertaken. Central to the Johnnie Walker Vault is the artistry of Dr. Emma Walker, the master blender at Johnnie Walker, as well as a selection of the brand's superbly rare whiskies.

Additionally, the history of Johnnie Walker can be found within the Vault, while simultaneously the innovative spirit behind the brand continues to evolve.

Over 200 years of innovation in one place

Johnnie Walker has been a brand for over 200 years, starting with the art of blending whisky. These two centuries of craftsmanship are being redefined in the Johnnie Walker Vault by Dr. Emma Walker.

At the same time, the needs of whisky enthusiasts are being heard. According to Julie Bramham, managing director of Diageo Luxury Group, this new experience has been built around the ‘evolving desires of the consumer’.

From ghost casks to supremely rare whisky

The Johnnie Walker Vault is not just a place where Walker creates new whisky. It's an experience comprised of three pillars centered around blending, luxury experiences, and creative collaborations.

The experience is personally curated by Johnnie Walker's master blender. She has selected the best of over 10 million Scotch barrels at her disposal for the Johnnie Walker Vault.

This includes supremely rare whiskies and ghost casks holding whiskies that will never be made again, sourced from more than 30 distilleries including Port Ellen and Brora.

A personal experience with Dr. Emma Walker

The Johnnie Walker master blender refers to the Johnnie Walker Vault as a treasure chest from which she can create unique blends that demonstrate the art of Johnnie Walker blending.

In the Vault, Walker will collaborate with various cultural figures. For the first time, this will take place in the spring of 2025, when a visionary couture fashion artist will join forces with the brand.

Your own luxury private blend from Johnnie Walker

Access to the Johnnie Walker Vault is not limited to Dr. Emma Walker and acquaintances. Whisky enthusiasts can also enter the vault of luxury whisky.

However, this comes at a cost. Prices for the experience start at 50,000 pounds (equivalent to just under 60,000 euros). Yet what they get in return is a unique and fully catered experience.

This encompasses a private VIP journey with a stay at the Gleneagles hotel in Perthshire, a tour of Diageo Archives, and a dining experience at a Michelin-rated restaurant.

The icing on the cake is a one-to-one private blending session with Walker in the Vault, where a selection of whiskies from the vault's reserves can be used. The resultant blend can then be taken home in a crystal Baccarat decanter.
