Whiskey Targeted at Horror Fans

Remember the killer from the horror movie Scream? The 1996 classic featured Matthew Lilard as the murderer. While we no longer see him in that series, he still has a connection with death. He is, in fact, the owner of Macabre Spirits, a beverage brand specifically targeting horror fans.
He established this company together with screenwriter Justin Ware. The pairing considers a story to be essential. They send out newsletters that include reading suggestions, like Stephen King's Carrie. Also, their own beverages (not just whiskies) have stories that are pivotal to the bottle.
Now, there's an upcoming collaboration with Ice Nine Kills, a band that was formed in Boston in 2002. This partnership was announced at the Silver Scream Con. Beyond the name Horrorwood Reserve, nothing else has been revealed.
'Clues will be revealed in the days to come, but you know it’s never just about the whiskey here. The Horrorwood Reserve boxed sets come with exclusive celebrity cocktail recipe cards created by an epic lineup of horror icons. (Okay, we’ll give away two: Matthew Lillard and Spencer Charnas. But you probably guessed that.)'

Film & Pop Culture

Whiskey often appears in horror movies: as a 'comfort' for the protagonist, or in a creepy bar where something's amiss. It frequently heightens tension and setting. Although we never saw whiskey in Scream, right?
