Some whisky bottles are purchased not just for what’s inside. Hidden Spirits’ new Pop-People Collection is a perfect example. Four Scottish single malts have been given eye-catching, colorful labels that draw almost as much attention as the whisky itself.
The Italian
independent bottler has released four single malt whiskies where bold art meets fine whisky. The collection features spirits from Clynelish, Glen Garioch,
Bunnahabhain, and Tobermory, though the latter two appear under their peated alter egos, Staoisha and Ledaig. The full series has now surfaced at
The Whisky Exchange.
Here’s a rundown of the standout releases:
- Glen Garioch 2014 (11 years) – 99.95 pounds
- Staoisha 2013 (12 years) – 99.95 pounds
- Ledaig 2009 (16 years) – 137 pounds
- Clynelish 2012 (14 years) – 199 pounds
Hidden Spirits unveils the striking Pop-People Collection
Behind Hidden Spirits is Italian collector and blogger Andrea Ferrari. He founded the independent bottling company in 2013 and has since been selecting casks that are released under his own label.
For the Pop-People Collection, four different
Scottish distilleries were chosen. Artist Minea created the vibrant label illustrations, ensuring these bottles are anything but your typical indie releases. Each bottle is inspired by a pop star.
The oldest name on the label doesn’t automatically mean the oldest whisky. The lineup includes a 2012 Clynelish that’s 14 years old and was bottled in March 2026. It matured in a hogshead and comes in at a robust 52.2% ABV.
According to
The Whisky Exchange, you can expect coastal notes, heather, citrus, creamy caramel, and vanilla spice.
There’s also a 2014 Glen Garioch. This 11-year-old Highland single malt was drawn from a first-fill bourbon barrel and bottled at 51.9%. Tasting notes point toward malt toffee, vanilla, tropical fruit, coconut, and a spicy finish.
Smoky whisky fans get two bottles as well
If you prefer smoke in your glass, this collection has you covered. Hidden Spirits selected a 12-year-old Staoisha from 2013. Staoisha is a name often used for peated Bunnahabhain. This
Islay whisky comes from a first-fill barrel and is bottled at 51.5%.
Balancing that is a 2009 Ledaig. Ledaig is the peated whisky produced at Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. This whisky is 16 years old, matured in a refill hogshead, and is bottled at 53.1%.
