The Glenlivet hasn’t kicked off the new year with one whisky, but with three. The Scottish distillery has unveiled its Small Batch Collection, featuring three mature single malts with distinctive flavor profiles.

The team at The Glenlivet has brought back the Small Batch Collection after a successful first release. This new trio forms a fresh triptych where cask selection and nuanced flavor take center stage.

Crafted under the watchful eye of Kevin Balmforth, cask master at The Glenlivet, these new whiskies are a tribute to whisky craftsmanship and the diversity of both flavor and casks.

This time, the goal was to use carefully composed cask combinations to amplify specific flavor accents, while preserving The Glenlivet’s unmistakable house character.

This 17-year-old single malt is fully matured in first-fill American oak. The focus is on fresh fruit tones and a distinctly floral sweetness, with the cask clearly shaping the aromatic profile.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Apple rings, citrus sweetness, freshly baked shortbread, vanilla, marzipan, heather, and honeysuckle.

Palate: Baked green apple, honeydew melon, lemon cake, orange marmalade, almond, and ginger.

Finish: Sweet, floral, and layered.

The whisky is limited to 9,900 bottles worldwide, priced at €154 per bottle.

What is The Glenlivet 19 Year Old 2.2 Indulgent Chocolate?

This 19-year-old expression combines first-fill American oak with first-fill sherry casks and second-fill ex-Scotch casks. The mix delivers a richer, deeper profile with emphasis on dark fruit, cocoa, and spice.

Here’s how the 19-year-old tastes:

Nose: Blackcurrants, figs, chocolate-coated raisins, treacle tart, toffee, clove, and cinnamon.

Palate: Sultanas, orange zest, chocolate hazelnut cream, spiced biscuits, red candies, and candied nuts.

Finish: Full, spicy, and sweet.
