Tuscany meets Scotland in a new single malt
In the Scottish Highlands, Aberfeldy Distillery unveils the next release in its wine cask finishing series. This time, it’s a 15-year-old single malt with a Tuscan twist.
The whisky first matured for 15 years in a combination of refill and hogshead casks. It was then transferred to red wine casks from Bolgheri for a further two years. These casks hail from a region renowned for its Super Tuscans made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Thanks to this maturation, the whisky boasts a deep color with spicy and fruity aromas. It’s a limited edition that will only be available for a short time, according to the distillery.
