What is The Glenturret Interlude?

The new release from The Glenturret is a single malt whisky matured in two different types of casks. The spirit first spent an undisclosed period in sherry-seasoned oak casks, after which it still hadn’t quite reached the desired profile.

It then underwent a long finishing period in Pedro Ximénez casks to build greater flavor and depth. The result is a whisky with layers and complexity.

John Laurie, managing director at The Glenturret, says the whisky pays tribute to the distillery’s transformation and growth in recent years.

How does The Glenturret Interlude whisky taste?

The new whisky from the Scottish distillery doesn’t come with classic tasting notes, but it does have a defined flavor profile. Laurie describes it as follows:

This single malt offers notes of gingerbread, dried fruit, pure oak, wood spices, and candied ginger, along with a hint of cinnamon, molasses, and warming spices.

The whisky is bottled at 46.5 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).
