There are whiskies in different flavors. One glass has a long finish, the other does not. How do we look at that? This week's question is therefore: How bad is a whisky without a long finish?
A whisky consists of the scent, the taste and the finish. This last part of the whisky tasting experience is in focus this week. Because what is really the deal with the length of the finish? Is a long finish important or not?

A long finish is nice, but for me not the most important criteria to buy a whisky. A short finish with a lot happening can also be delicious. Think of a fruity summer dram with a short, fresh finish. Absolutely fine. That makes me spontaneously want a glass of Auchentoshan. Everyone has their associations.

That's no problem at all. Whiskies can be great simply because of their scent. If the taste is then good you have a plus. If the finish is also long, you have a top whisky, but this doesn't always have to be the case.

I personally don't find it very bothersome. I see the finish more as a dessert. Nice if it's there, but it's not necessary. After all, I've already had fun with the rest of the 'meal' haha.

The finish of a whisky is not the most important thing for me. After all, I've already had the most important part. The scent memory was already stimulated in the beginning which is for me the most beautiful part of the tasting, that you also take to the actual tasting. In the end, this also influences the finish, whether it's long or short.
