You've probably heard of the
Japanese whisky brand
Nikka. This is an ultra-accessible whisky that goes down almost dangerously smooth. In particular, the Nikka from the Barrel is something you'll always want in your cabinet. But
did you know that Nikka once launched an American Football Player whisky?
If you are familiar with Nikka from the Barrel, you may not immediately associate Nikka with creative whisky bottles. The Nikka from the Barrel is just a simple little bottle, but appearances can be deceiving. Did you know that its shape is synonymous with a chiseled ice block? Apart from this fun fact, Nikka is frequently experimenting (and has experimented) with eye-catching whiskies.
Nikka's price has doubled many times over
The whisky that's currently turning heads is the Nikka Samurai. A whisky that was released in limited quantities, and was initially only sold in Japanese airports. Now, you can find this drink on certain websites, including Drankdozijn, but you'll pay a lot more than it originally cost at the airport. Now it will set you back about 250 euros, while at the airport it would not have cost much more than sixty euros - slightly higher than the price for the Nikka from the Barrel.
Nikka whisky in the form of an American Football player
The Samurai has the shape of a Samurai warrior. If you think that bottle is cool, there's another Nikka bottle you'll love! Because in the past, Nikka launched something similar, but in the form of an American Football player. Once again, the 'body' of the whisky bottle resembles a person, and there is a cap on top, just like the
Samurai edition. As with this Nikka, the whisky was released in very limited quantities and only in
Japan.
