Pappy van Winkle releases brand new whiskey collection for 2025
Every year, Pappy van Winkle introduces a new series of whiskeys. This year is no exception. The Pappy Van Winkle 2025 Bourbon Collection is now a reality, featuring a special whiskey that steals the show.
The highlight of the series is the 25-year-old Old Rip Van Winkle. This bourbon has been aged for 25 years and is bottled in a Glencairn decanter. It is number 706 of the 710 bottles ever made. The set in which the whiskey originally came out is long sold out, except for this one bottle.
The distillery is now offering the bottle via an auction that will be held soon. The other whiskeys are sold at the distillery.
Julian P. Van Winkle III says that the collection embodies something special.

- Let's keep this factually correct. Pernod Ricard DID NOT release a Chinese whisky. Their first output from The Chuan (the name of the distillery in Sichuan, China) wasn't fit for bottling. What they actually bottled was imported Scotch whisky. This is why the product is called "PURE MALT" and not "Chinese Whisky" - because Pure Malt is not a regulated term - this is not a secret. This was exposed about a week after they released it. There were even videos about their own staff on site admitting it was made from imported whisky - which Pernod Ricard got the lawyers onto to get the video pulled.
