The latest whisky creation from Douglas Laing's stable is a special limited edition that cross-pollinates Campbeltown with sunny wine regions. The Gauldrons Eclipse is the very first bottling in The Gauldrons series to have a finish in Orange Wine casks.
After maturing, the whisky received an extra dimension in casks sourced from Jerez de la Frontera, in the heart of Andalusia. These special wine casks, used for the so-called orange wine, add a surprising aromatic character to the profile of the whisky.
What does The Gauldrons Orange Wine Cask Finish taste like?
The whisky has received extensive tasting notes from the whisky maker. We've set them out below:
- Nose: Malt, dried apricots, orange peel, and toasted almonds.
- Palate: Walnuts, honey, ginger, and stone fruit.
- Finish: Persistent notes of spice and orange with an almost otherworldly edge.
The whisky is bottled at the natural cask strength of 52.9% alcohol by volume (ABV).

The new whisky has been bottled in a limited run of 3000 bottles. The price per bottle is around 70 pounds (approximately 85 euros). The Gauldrons Eclipse Orange Wine Cask can be purchased through
