Edinburgh Bases Bottler Buys Lowland Bond and Expands Drastically

Gleann Mòr Spirits, the Edinburgh-based producer and bottler behind the Rare Find range, has completed the full acquisition of Lowland Bond, a fast-growing excise warehouse in Fife. The company was already a shareholder, but has now bought the remaining stake from the Edinburgh Whisky Company.

With this move, Gleann Mòr Spirits strengthens its position in the global market for whisky and spirit maturation. The acquisition gives the company direct access to additional storage capacity, logistics capabilities, and a strategic hub for worldwide distribution.

For distilleries, cask owners, and importers, it means Gleann Mòr Spirits can now offer a broader and more flexible range of services.

Lowland Bond: a modern whisky hub

Lowland Bond opened its doors in April 2023 and quickly grew into a leading facility. The warehouse is now recognised as the tallest racked whisky warehouse in both the United Kingdom and Europe.

The site offers around 30,000 square feet of secure storage space and has capacity for more than 20,000 casks. Its location in Glenrothes, at the heart of whisky-rich Fife, makes it an attractive base for international partners who depend on efficient storage and swift throughput.
