What’s in store during Dutch Whisky Week in Friesland?

At the end of January, the very first Dutch Whisky Week kicks off. Distilleries across the country will be hosting tastings, exclusive tours, and more. On the Dutch Whisky Week whisky website, you’ll find a map highlighting all participating distilleries. But even easier, we’re spotlighting the activities by province for you, right? Today, we’re highlighting what’s on in Friesland.

These are the participating distilleries from Groningen:

This distillery sits in the heart of Friesland and is hosting two very different events at the Oerfrysk Distillery. On Friday 30 January and Saturday 31 January, the doors open to whisky lovers keen to discover this Frisian nectar of the gods. The only question is: will you grab a seat at the Friday night tasting with five drams, or opt for one of the distillery tours on Saturday?

Zaanshine has moved to a new location and taken on a new name: Stokerij Harich. At this new distillery, you can choose between two experiences: a tour with an artisanal Dutch and American tasting on 28 January, and a Food and Whisky Pairing on 30 January. During the latter, à la minute food pairings are prepared to match Dutch whisky.

In both cases, you’ll meet the master distiller and dive into the story behind this Dutch whisky. There will also be a mystery guest on hand.
