Glenmorangie teases a Something Nice whisky, and Harrison Ford is awfully quiet about it

In the Scottish Highlands, Glenmorangie is gearing up for a new release. The whisky is being heavily teased with big posters and billboards, and there’s plenty to take in. What stands out most is that the whisky seems to have everything to do with Star Wars and Harrison Ford.

In just a few days it’s happening: May 4th. Around the world, Star Wars fans know this as “May the 4th,” a special day celebrating the saga. Whisky lovers, meanwhile, can look forward to something altogether different: a brand-new Glenmorangie that may be making the leap from Scotland to Hollywood. One thing’s certain: it’s going to be Something Nice.

To build anticipation, Glenmorangie has released a cinematic teaser poster, designed by top artist Julien Rico Jr. The poster shows a silhouette by a cabin and an iconic whisky bottle. The chosen date and the name immediately evoke Star Wars.

The link to Han Solo is easy to make. Actor Harrison Ford, known for his role in Star Wars, previously collaborated with Glenmorangie on the Once Upon a Time in Scotland campaign. Although he hasn’t been officially confirmed for this new release, the timing around May 4th—and the Something Nice name—serve as a neat nod to the actor. He often describes things like whisky as “nice.”

The blend of whisky, Hollywood-style marketing, and the iconic May 4th date makes this launch unique. Glenmorangie is deliberately leaning into storytelling with a pop culture and Star Wars hook. But what do the log cabin and the mysterious silhouette on the poster have to do with the whisky itself?

It’s a clever move from the whisky maker. The poster is enticingly cryptic. That effect is amplified by early “reviews” from well-known names like Mark Kermode and Charles MacLean, who are already praising the project as if it were an award-winning production.
