Jack Daniel’s launches an exclusive McLaren F1 whiskey and it sold out instantly

American whiskey maker Jack Daniel’s has teamed up with the Formula 1 team McLaren to release a striking, ultra-exclusive whiskey. It’s the first exclusive F1 whiskey from the two: the Jack Daniel's Halo MK1 Tennessee Whiskey. Not only is it the brand’s most expensive bottle ever, it’s also one of the most distinctive collaborations between the worlds of motorsport and premium spirits.

Previous partnerships between Jack Daniel’s and McLaren focused mainly on special editions of the existing Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 whiskey. This time, it’s a completely new and exclusive bottling. Jack describes the Halo MK1 Tennessee Whiskey as its most premium and limited release to date and the design backs that up.

This Jack Daniel's whiskey is far more than a special bottle in a cool package. The distillery created it as a tribute to Bruce McLaren, the brand’s founder, and even tied the strength to him. It was bottled at 117.4 proof, or 58.7% alcohol by volume (ABV), a nod to his racing number, 58.

The packaging design is directly inspired by the Formula 1 car. The bottle sits in a holder modeled after the “halo”: the protective ring above an F1 cockpit. But what does the whiskey taste like?

The mix of exclusivity, design, and the Formula 1 connection made the Halo MK1 an instant hit. Despite the steep 600 dollar price tag, the whiskey sold out quickly through Jack Daniel’s official channels.
