Whiskey brand Jack Daniel’s is fully embracing the holiday spirit. The distillery has launched a U.S. initiative using whiskey barrels to bring a festive season to families across the country. Read on to discover how it works.
It’s nearly time to deck the halls and count down to Christmas, and Jack Daniel’s is already getting started. The distillery has once again raised its iconic Barrel Trees, which, as every year, support a special cause.

What is the Jack Daniel’s Barrel Tree Sale?

Jack Daniel’s Barrel Trees aren’t just Christmas trees made from empty whiskey barrels. They’re part of a sales campaign taking place in 12 U.S. cities. The brand sells the barrels, stacked into a Christmas tree, for $200 each.
All proceeds from the sale go directly to Operation Ride Home. This charity, in partnership with the Armed Services YMCA, provides financial assistance to help junior-enlisted service members travel home to their families.

Thousands of service members helped

The tradition began in Lynchburg, Tennessee, where the distillery used more than 140 barrels to build a tree. Over the years, Jack Daniel’s has helped more than 13,000 service members get home for the holidays through this Christmas initiative.
The tradition has now grown to a total of 22 trees across the U.S., including in Buffalo, Charlotte, Inglewood, Lynchburg, and Washington, D.C. By expanding the effort, the campaign gains visibility, invites more participation, and raises more funds.

How to take part in the Jack Daniel’s Barrel Tree Sale

Joining in is simple. You can purchase an empty whiskey barrel via the Jack Daniel’s website. You’ll need to pick it up yourself at one of the designated locations on the specified dates. Unfortunately, this is only available within the United States and to U.S. residents.
