The new year is set to kick off in style for whisky lovers, with
Dutch Whisky Week taking place at the end of January. What’s on the agenda? Today, we’re zooming in on what’s happening in the province of Flevoland.
Do we have a distillery in Flevoland? Absolutely. If you look at the map of the Netherlands, you’ll spot a distillery in the upper right. That’s Haegens Distillery. Out on the Flevoland countryside, they distill with traditional craft and care.
Two events in Flevoland during Dutch Whisky Week
Right now, their new make spirit is resting in cask, and during Dutch Whisky Week you can taste how this future whisky already presents itself at this early stage. Pretty special, right?
These are the two events on the calendar:
- New Make tasting with tour
New Make tasting with tour
As mentioned, the new make spirit is maturing, and during Dutch Whisky Week you can be among the first in the Netherlands to sample it. This takes place on Friday, January 30.
Distillery Tour
The second event is a Distillery Tour on January 31. You’ll be welcomed in the distillery’s tasting room and, after a cup of coffee, taken on an exciting tour.
There you’ll learn more about Haegens Distillery’s future whisky. After the tour, you can enjoy a glass of new make or a beer. The distillery crafts more than whisky: beer included.
