The bourbon brand Jefferson's needs to be promoted more and in a different way. That is why Droga5 and Jefferson's have now launched a collaboration, joining forces with actor Taylor Kitsch.
  • What makes Jefferson’s Bourbon unique?
Jefferson’s is renowned for its experimental aging process, with barrels finished at sea or in tropical climates.
  • Who’s behind Jefferson’s Bourbon?
The brand is owned by Pernod Ricard, which also owns brands such as Jameson and The Glenlivet.
  • Where can I buy Jefferson's?
Jefferson's is available at select liquor stores and online at premium whiskey stores.
Kitsch has several big roles under his belt, including in True Detective. Yet, his acting career doesn't seem to fully take off. The actor now ventures into a new medium and features in the first new advertisement of Jefferson's. What stands out is the humor that is umistakably present.

Jefferson's: Tradition in the Breaking

The video is part of the new slogan: Tradition in the Breaking. On one hand, the American bourbon brand wants to remember its history and roots, on the other hand, it's time for innovation.
Laura Arayata, global director of creative strategy & digital transformation at Pernod Ricard, had the following to say about this step:
'Jefferson’s is at an exciting inflection point. We’ve always pushed the boundaries of what Bourbon can be and, with this campaign, we’re seizing the chance to reintroduce not just Ocean, but the full breadth of our portfolio. It’s a bold statement that re-establishes Jefferson’s as one of the most innovative and distinctive voices in American whiskey today.'
- Laura Arayata
Pernod Ricard acquired Jefferson from the Caste Brands in 2019 for a whopping 223 million dollars. In a market under pressure, it's clear that all avenues are explored to portray various brands differently.

Not so serious

The actor in the video, Taylor Kitsch, certainly had fun doing it.
'The experience on set was fun and creative, and I think that spirit comes through in the spots,” he said. Aside from being a fan of the Bourbon, what I love about Jefferson’s is that they go against the grain and have a sense of adventure, which made this feel like the perfect fit.'
- Taylor Kitsch
Pernod Richard will aim to establish Jefferson's as a super-premium bourbon on the map in the United States in the future.
