Special editions of
Johnnie Walker Blue Label appear regularly. Now a brand-new design edition of Johnnie Walker Blue Label has surfaced. Is this special version of the whisky coming out soon?
The luxurious
Johnnie Walker Blue Label already has many variations. The whisky in the bottle remains the same each time, but the packaging is unique. That’s also the case for the next edition.
The label that has appeared in the
TTB database doesn’t spotlight the Year of the Horse (that whisky already exists), but something entirely different. The animal on the bottle is a goat.
An artistic collaboration for the whisky bottle
The design of this limited-edition whisky comes from Jiayi Li, a Chinese artist known worldwide for her vivid colors, bold lines, and modern illustration style.
Her work has previously appeared with major fashion houses like Jean Paul Gaultier and Vogue. She has also collaborated with The New Yorker and Nike. With this partnership,
Johnnie Walker Blue Label once again leans into an artistic direction for its premium blended Scotch whisky.
Higher ABV than the standard Blue Label?
What makes this edition seem extra special is its 46% alcohol by volume (ABV). That’s a touch higher than the regular
Johnnie Walker Blue Label, which is bottled at 40% ABV.
What this means for the whisky’s flavor isn’t clear yet. Diageo and
Johnnie Walker have not shared or announced any specifics about the whisky.
When will the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Jiayi Li Edition be released?
Its appearance in the TTB database suggests a potentially swift release for this special
Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottling. Still, nothing is certain.
Johnnie Walker has not yet announced the release date or the price. It’s unclear when, or if that will happen. A label filing doesn’t necessarily mean an immediate release.
