Loch Lomond The Originals Whisky
Whisky brands sometimes make subtle tweaks to their releases so the label looks a touch more polished. That’s exactly what Loch Lomond is doing now with its Originals range. The name changes to The Originals. And that’s not all: two new editions are launching alongside it.
Until now, the Loch Lomond Originals range included just one whisky: the Triple Oak. It was in dire need of some company, and at the same time the distillery decided it was time for a fresh look. The name has been updated and the label design refined. But which whiskies are joining the lineup?

What are the Loch Lomond The Originals whiskies?

The whiskies in the Loch Lomond The Originals range are as follows:
  • Loch Lomond The Originals Triple Oak
  • Loch Lomond The Originals Oloroso Sherry Cask
  • Loch Lomond The Originals Peated Rioja Cask

What is Loch Lomond The Originals Triple Oak?

Triple Oak is the original whisky in the Loch Lomond range. Maturation in three types of American oak has given this single malt aromas of honey and citrus, with a subtle smoke that lingers elegantly on the finish.
This whisky is distilled in both the unique Straight Neck and traditional Swan Neck pot stills, hallmarks of Loch Lomond.

What is Loch Lomond The Original Oloroso Sherry Cask?

This whisky enjoyed a 6‑month finish in Oloroso sherry casks. The result is rich sherry notes layered with toffee, caramel, and vanilla. The finish is long, warming, and gently spicy, complemented by dried fruit aromas and a soft smokiness.
Distillation took place in the distillery’s Straight Neck stills.

What is Loch Lomond The Original Peated Rioja Cask?

The third whisky is a peated expression from Loch Lomond. After maturation, it was finished for 6 months in selected Rioja wine casks. It stands out for its bold smoky profile. On the palate you’ll find notes of sweet cherry, plum, and melted brown sugar, followed by an intense, smoky finish.
The whisky is crafted using a combination of Straight Neck and Swan Neck pot stills, adding depth and layers to its character.

How much do the Loch Lomond The Originals whiskies cost?

The whiskies are keenly priced. Each bottle is available for under 30 euros at better specialist retailers.
