Whisky in Now You See Me 3
In the blockbuster Now You See Me 3, currently in theaters, Morgan Freeman returns as Thaddeus Bradley. While he doesn’t take center stage this time, there is a tiny, delightful whisky moment in the film.
During a scene where the group of illusionists frantically tries to solve puzzles, Bradley (played by Freeman) sits in the background calmly sipping an unidentified whisky. The chaos around him seems to leave him completely unfazed, until his glass is nearly threatened.

“This whisky is older than you”

He looks up, arches an eyebrow, and with impeccable timing tells the illusionist to watch it.

It’s a dry one-liner that, for a few seconds, shifts all the attention squarely to the glass in his hand. The camera zooms right in, yet whatever’s in that tumbler remains a mystery.
Of course, we all know there was likely no real whisky in his glass, movie sets run on make-believe. The tumblers in Peaky Blinders were filled with tea, not the nectar of the gods. And Mads Mikkelsen was never actually drunk in Another Round.
Still, it’s fun to speculate: how does an old whisky suddenly end up in a script? Was that the screenwriter’s touch? Or is Morgan Freeman secretly fond of well-aged whisky? A quick spin around the internet, sadly, offers no answers.

Collaborations between Scottish distilleries and famous actors

What we do know is that other famous actors have a thing for whisky, and major Scottish brands have happily leaned into that lately. Laphroaig, for instance, is running a campaign with Willem Dafoe, and Glenmorangie has teamed up with Harrison Ford.
