The
Danish whisky scene is making history. After signing the Danish Whisky Act, ten Danish distilleries joined forces to create a unique whisky: Danish MegaBlend 2026.
The special collaboration was officially
unveiled at Whiskymessen in Kolding,
Denmark’s largest whisky event. The project aims not only to highlight the quality of Danish whisky, but also to position Denmark internationally as a destination for gastronomic tourism.
According to the initiators, the bottle is more than just a whisky. It’s a symbolic product that showcases the spirit of collaboration within Denmark’s fast-growing whisky industry.
With Danish MegaBlend 2026, ten distilleries demonstrate what’s possible when the sector joins forces. The whisky is made with spirit from nine distilleries, while a tenth supplied casks for maturation. The project is rooted in the values of the Danish Whisky Manifesto, a shared vision of quality, transparency, and locally sourced ingredients.

Denmark’s whisky industry unites
According to Hans Martin Hansgaard, founder of Stauning Whisky, the bottling is a symbol of the sector’s collaboration.
“Danish MegaBlend is a tangible symbol of the cooperation and community that has grown among Danish whisky distilleries in recent years. It’s a whisky that shows what we can achieve when we work together and build on the values set out in the Whisky Manifesto for Danish whisky.”
- Hans Martin HansgaardThe initiative isn’t a one-off. The distilleries are considering releasing another joint whisky in 2027. Whether it becomes an annual tradition remains to be seen.
What’s in Danish MegaBlend 2026
The collaborative whisky is a blend of multiple Danish single malts and has been intentionally crafted to be approachable. Key characteristics: it’s a 100% Danish blended whisky with no smoke. It has matured primarily in bourbon casks and was then bottled at around 50 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).
The tasting notes haven’t been released, but the outturn and price have. There are 765 bottles, each priced at 699 Danish kroner, about 93 euros.
The future of Danish whisky
While Denmark is still relatively new to whisky production, its reputation is growing quickly. Distilleries such as Stauning and Thy have already won international awards.
With projects like Danish MegaBlend 2026, the industry shows that collaboration is central to the evolution of Danish whisky. If the initiators have their way, this joint bottling could even become an annual tradition, potentially giving Denmark an ever larger role on the global whisky stage.
