The Scottish Hebrides and the British fashion world come together in a brand-new whisky from the Isle of Harris Distillery. The Scottish whisky maker has joined forces with clothing brand Sunspel for a unique new single cask whisky.

The collaboration between the Scottish distillery and the clothing brand was born out of pure fascination. Nicholas Brooke, Managing Director at Sunspel, had long been impressed by the close bond between the distillery, its community, and the natural environment of Harris.

was fascinated by The Isle of Harris Distillery’s unique story, set in one of the most beautiful locations in Britain. Like Sunspel, they are deeply committed to craft and place, and this collaboration celebrates that shared spirit.

That led him to visit the island and the distillery, where he met Shona Macleod, blender at the Isle of Harris Distillery. Together they selected a cask that would become the new special single cask release of The Hearach.

What is the Hearach x Sunspel whisky?

It’s a first-fill ex–Buffalo Trace bourbon cask made from American white oak, filled with 7-year-old whisky. The cask has given the whisky a beautiful hue and a lively palate. Below are the tasting notes:

Nose: An explosion of ripe blackcurrants, followed by old-fashioned fruit sweets and honeycomb. Then vanilla ice cream with a warm, deep oak note.

Palate: Soft yet complex, with hints of clove, vanilla, and glazed cinnamon rolls.

Finish: Not specified.

The whisky is bottled at 58.2 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).
