Burns Night is coming up, which means there will be many special events featuring food, whisky, and entertainment throughout Scotland and England. At The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, whisky lovers can indulge in an atmospheric setting with English whisky, storytelling, and more.
Each year, The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery hosts a Burns Night celebration. The Burns Night 2026 event planned for this year is set to be an unforgettable evening filled with Scottish heritage, outstanding food, and award-winning English whisky.
Taking place on Friday 23 January 2026, this annual celebration at the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery brings together tradition, storytelling, and flavour in a unique setting.
Whisky-paired Burns Night dinner featuring Filey Bay
Burns Night is traditionally held in honour of Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns, and the
Filey Bay celebration stays true to the roots of the occasion.
The evening begins at 6:00 pm with a welcome speech, introducing guests to the life, work, and lasting influence of Burns. This is followed by the ceremonial Toasting of the Haggis, a key moment of any Burns Night that officially opens the festivities and signals the start of dinner.
Food and whisky play a central role during the evening at the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery. Guests are welcomed with a classic Bobby Burns whisky cocktail before sitting down to a carefully curated three-course dinner, with each course paired with a different
Filey Bay whisky.
An extensive whisky dining experience
In total, guests will enjoy 4 whisky drams, showcasing a range of cask styles and flavour profiles.
The menu starts with a starter of black pudding and a rosti stack served with a whisky cream sauce, paired with the
Filey Bay Flagship whisky.
This is followed by the main course: traditional Haggis, Neeps and Tatties with Mosc-infused gravy (a vegetarian option is available), paired with the
Filey Bay Moscatel Cask whisky.
Dessert is accompanied by the STR Red Wine Cask whisky, and the evening concludes with a nightcap: a final dram of Sherry Cask Reserve number 6.
Entertainment after dinner
After dinner, there is more to enjoy. Guests can take part in a light-hearted English versus Scottish quiz. The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery notes that no specialist knowledge is required, and there are prizes to be won.
