Cotswolds Distillery is making another big splash in the world of English whisky. This time, with a new release delivered by one of the youngest female distillers in the United Kingdom. Introducing the Wychwood Harvest Edition.

Daniel Szor, the owner of Cotswolds Distillery, and Alice Pearson, one of the youngest female distillers in the United Kingdom, have released a new single malt. The English distillery gave Pearson free rein to select the casks.

Her final choice landed on a mix of ex-bourbon barrels and port casks that were filled almost ten years ago. This entire selection was married and eventually bottled as the Cotswolds Wychwood Harvest Expression.

Pearson is extremely pleased with this new release, one of her first whiskies to hit the global market.

What does the Cotswolds Wychwood Harvest Expression taste like?

The official tasting notes of the new English whisky are as follows:

Nose: Rich dark fruit, like stewed berries, compote, and forest fruits.
Palate: Soft vanilla from the bourbon barrels with a very slight hint of peat.
Finish: Not stated.

The whisky is bottled at 50 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).

Special Packaging

As with each year, the Harvest Series features unique art. For the packaging, local artist Andrea Bates was hired. She has previously designed a Cotswolds Harvest Edition whisky and had something special in mind for this bottle.

On the packaging, she captures the farming tradition of Cotswolds with rolling fields beneath a clouded sky.

The Cotswolds Wychwood Harvest Single Malt Whisky costs 100 per 70cl bottle. It is available through Cotswolds Distillery.
