A whisky series to truly savor

The Tales series by Glenmorangie uniquely explores different themes. The first two bottles, A Tale of Winter and A Tale of Cake, took us on remarkable journeys, and A Tale of the Forest promises to do the same.
This whisky is inspired by a very special story. Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's Director of Whisky Creation, appreciates the little things in life. Almost every day, he takes a walk in a nearby forest.
During these walks, he started to notice many things: the rustling of autumn leaves, the smell of pine and damp underbrush, sounds of birds and other forest dwellers, and more.
He wanted to bring these experiences to life in the Tales of series, so he decided to revive an old method of malting barley with plants, rowan berries, and more.
It's a Glenmorangie that surprises, delights, and leaves you with a sense of fulfillment. It offers the pleasure of a forest walk without leaving your couch!

A bouquet everyone will appreciate

Judging Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest by its box alone would bring joy. The box is completely surrounded by illustrative depictions of plants and flowers, courtesy of Thai illustrator Pomme Chan.
Besides juniper and pine, you can spot countless other green flora on the packaging. While the front predominantly features the Glenmorangie in golden letters, the back is reserved for the whisky's name.
The sides of the packaging transport your imagination on a stroll with Lumsden, akin to what you'd expect from a gift box, but also fitting for a limited edition like this. The whisky's backstory is also written on the box, ensuring everyone knows its origins precisely.

Somewhat strange, yet tantalizing

The sense of that forest walk with Glenmorangie's Master Blender reappears the moment you uncork the bottle and pour the first glass: a surprising hint of lightly peated aroma, an unusual scent for a Glenmorangie.
Generally, these whiskies are mild and somewhat sweet-smelling. A Tale of the Forest balances this peated scent nicely against aromas of juniper, orange peel, vanilla and a medley of forest scents reminiscent of a damp autumn morning.
On your first sip, you'll detect a slightly spicier Glenmorangie (the peat again). Then comes a palette full of anise, fennel, toffee, and other sweet flavors with a hint of orange shining through. It's a delight for whisky connoisseurs, yet also thoroughly enjoyable for those new to whisky.
