Alongside the core range from Turntable and the flavourful limited edition tracks, Turntable often has special bottlings. As we're accustomed to from Turntable, the new Unplugged whisky is a blend of various whiskies.

For the latest whisky, Alisdair and Gordon Stevenson, as always, focused their utmost attention on the right mix. The Stevenson brothers dove into their warehouse full of barrels for this new edition and produced a brand-new blended whisky.

Exactly what goes into the Turntable Unplugged whisky?

Out of the more than 1000 barrels of whisky lying there, they selected the ingredients for the new exclusive blend. This is every component in Turntable Unplugged whisky (and the flavour each provides):

9% Benrinnes 1st Fill Bourbon: Soft vanilla.
8% Knockdhu Virgin Oak: Crisp green apple.
49% Blended Malt 1st Fill Bourbon: Pear.
19% Marypark Blended Malt 2nd Fill Bourbon: Candied ginger.
1% Ledaig (peated) Bourbon/Sherry: Sweet peat.
14% Blended Grain Ex-Sherry: Almond.

How does Turntable Unplugged whisky taste?

The whisky hasn't been assigned classical tasting notes, but the brothers have described the whisky's taste. Here is their description.

‘A light but harmonious composition of taste. Orchard fruits, vanilla with light floral undertones and a hint of peat smoke.’

The whisky is bottled at 46 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). Even though there was some doubt whether it needed to be lower, the depth at this percentage was preferred.

Turntable whiskies are generally quite affordable, but in this case, they've gone above and beyond. The exclusive bottle, in fact, is the brand's most affordable whisky ever.
