Since 2018, Chichibu Distillery has been introducing something unique at Whisky Live Paris. This year is no exception. Whisky enthusiasts can expect six special bottles that collectively form the Chichibu Paris Edition 2025 whisky.
What is the Chichibu Paris Edition 2025 whisky?
Chichibu has conceived something fun for this year's theme: postage stamps. Whisky is a cherished collectible, just like postage stamps. The distillery unites these two now with labels in the form of postage stamps on their whisky.
As with every release, the Paris 2025 Edition whisky also pays tribute to France and
Japan. The labels portray different neighborhoods from both countries.
What kinds of labels are seen on the new Chichibu whisky bottle?
The labels feature Paris and Tokyo, to be precise. Each series includes a duo of bottles. One for Paris and one for Tokyo. Below are the bottles and the labels:
- Montmartre & Asakusa (bottle #1–828)
- Le Marais & Harajuku (bottle #829–1,656)
- Champs-Élysées & Ginza (bottle #1,657–2,484)
What does the Japanese Chichibu whisky taste like?
The Chichibu Paris Edition 2025 whisky is a single malt whisky from Japan. The tasting notes of the whisky are as follows:
- Nose: Tropical fruit (passionfruit, lychee), grapes, black currants, forest floor, and a hint of plum
- Palate: Oily and smoky with lemon and pepper, evolving into honey, toast and fruity notes of mirabelle and damson
- Finish: Long and spicy with mint, eucalyptus, sage, tropical fruit tones, and bourbon vanilla
The whisky is bottled at 50.5% alcohol by volume (ABV).
