The most viewed series on Netflix at the moment is Black Rabbit, starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman in two leading roles. Occasionally, whisk(e)y makes an appearance in the series, and we're here to explain how.
Black Rabbit tells the story of two brothers, Jake (Jude Law) and his brother Vince (Jason Bateman). While Jake runs a successful restaurant, The Black Rabbit, his brother Vince is deeply in debt.
He drags his brother into this abyss as debt collectors chase him. The TV series is currently ranked number one on Netflix. Yours truly has watched two episodes so far.

Shots of Jameson whiskey

In both episodes, the divine drink plays a brief role in distinctive ways. This contrast is quite intriguing. In episode 1, The Cyclone, we see Vince sitting in a bar, sipping Jameson whiskey with someone else. This happens in small glasses, with Jameson being shot repeatedly afterwards.
One could almost say it befits Vince's way of life. He's in a tough spot and uses alcohol to avoid facing his problems. He doesn't use whiskey to savour it.

The charm of Compass Box whisky

In episode 2, The Black Rabbits, we see something different. Brother Jake receives positive reviews and everything seems to be going his way. He wants to share his success with his staff. Consequently, he decides to toast with everyone using whisky.
But it's not just any whisky. Jake is a connoisseur and that's evident. A bottle of Compass Box is showcased. We regretfully can't tell you which expression it is, but it's clearly Compass Box.
Thus, we see two contrasting uses of whisky in two episodes. One is all about a connoisseur who savours his drams and the other about someone who is just interested in drinken and getting drunk. Amusing, isn't it?
